Florida and Alabama: Do you have room for forlorn conservatives?

 by Noel S. Williams

Common sense conservatives won’t jump ship as many leftists promised to do when President Trump inaugurated the Golden Age of America. We will fight like the spirit of 1776, perhaps while regrouping and revitalizing our fidelity.

Unfortunately, the Ship of State is now veering to the left, so the options for those seeking a sane port of call are limited. Per U-Haul’s growth index, in 2025 Texas led the list of growth states.

Since it’s so late in the year, it might eke out gains for 2026, but I bet they plummet in 2027. Certainly, there won’t be as many high-paying blue collar jobs as governor-elect Gina Hinojosa promises to tamp down on data center construction. Worryingly, Elon Musk, who moved operations to the state, is in the cross-hairs.

Florida ranks second for net-gain of one-way customers. Here’s an easy prediction: the red wall that withstood the blue wave will vault to number one by 2027.

There’s no need to worry about their human-friendly, freedom-loving policies continuing under governor-elect Byron Donalds (who DeSantis supported enthusiastically). I just hope they have enough space for us. As of 2025, they were the state with the seventh highest population density.

Fortunately, deep red Alabama is next door to take the overflow. The state with such stunning natural wonders — both the gracious residents and scenery — is also moving up the U-Haul list. It went from 16 to 9th highest growth rate in 2025. Moreover, it is only ranked as the 28th most densely populous state, so maybe they will welcome some like-minded patriots.

I know Alabamans won’t want this advertised, but we are a “free” country, well, at least Florida and Alabama are.
