Tech giants call for joint response to AI threats

 OpenAI, Anthropic, Microsoft, Amazon Web Services, Google, and more than 100 tech companies have signed an open letter calling for a global response to increasing AI-powered cyber threats, warning that everyone, "from companies to public services," is at risk.

"Each of us can reduce risk now. All organizations, cybersecurity companies, technology partners, governments, and AI frontier companies have an important role: accelerate defenders' priorities with tools, funding, and hands-on support, especially for critical infrastructure organizations with limited budgets," the companies said in the letter released on Thursday.

The signatories said every organization should raise its internal security standards and fix its "highest-risk weaknesses," while tech and cybersecurity companies need to "make ake AI-powered defense accessible and deployable for critical-infrastructure operators." They also urged governments to bolster channels "to share actionable threat intelligence," and coordinate cyber defense at local, national and international levels.
