A Tehran-Dushanbe flight was forced to return to Imam Khomeini International Airport after Turkmenistan did not grant Iranian airlines permission to cross its airspace, Iran's Civil Aviation Organization said on Thursday.
Spokesman Majid Akhavan told ISNA the aircraft could not reach its destination because it was denied transit through Turkmen airspace.
ISNA also reported that all flights by Iranian airlines to the United Arab Emirates had been canceled from midnight.
