Hopefully, after the Midterms, I’ll no longer have to write about James Talarico. It’s exasperating. But I do the research and writing so AT readers won’t have to. You're welcome. Today’s topic is Talarico’s bizarre, non-Christian version of Christianity, and his transparent attempts to backpedal. Talarico and his acolytes are accusing Republican Ken Paxton of the political dirty trick of exposing the public to video and audio of Talarico saying things. Unfortunately for Talarico, there is plenty available.
Talarico, a Presbyterian seminarian, often preaches at his non-Christian Austin Presbyterian Church, and elsewhere. His beliefs were caught on camera when, in lobbying for abortion, he characterized fetuses as “tapeworms and parasites.” Most abortion proponents are smart enough not to go quite that far in going too far.

He, like most Democrats, is trans-obsessed. In his role as a Texas legislator, he pushed a bill that would seize a parent’s child if they didn’t fully support transing them:
"I think there are some folks that would think that if you deny your child's gender identity, that's incredibly harmful. And whether or not we label it with the term abuse, it's abusive for sure," Talarico said while debating legislation designed to protect parents who refuse to affirm a child’s gender identity from having that used against them in custody proceedings.
Talarico infamously proclaimed God “non-binary,” but is trying to explain that away:
BROOKE TAYLOR, FOX NEWS CORRESPONDENT: In 2021, you said God is both masculine and feminine and everything in between. God is non-binary. Do you still stand by that?
TALARICO: I was being provocative with that statement, I get that. What I was trying to say is that you can’t use human categories to define God. And that’s not controversial theologically.
Actually, it is. What seminarian, what minister, would even think that about God, the Father? Talarico and the ministers of his church share his views. Rev. Babs Miller, a lesbian, admits Talarico’s attempts to move to the center are lies:
“Western civilization shows us that most social and moral progress has been brought about by persons free from religion.”
Apparently, persons like Rigby:
Rigby does not use male pronouns for God, saying it is a kind of “violence” to imply to a girl that her brother is more like God than she is. He also does not use the word “Lord,” because it conjures a wealthy, European, male God, the Times reported. He also said he does not much care for the word “God” but will use the word on occasion, preferring synonyms, because “it’s going to mean something different to everybody.”
Also featured in the undercover video is Rev. Babs Miller, who states, “I don’t have a need for a God” and that she thinks there is “something out there that holds all this together,” but “she doesn’t see it as a God.”
“We are not a worshipping church,” she adds.
So much for the whole "our Father" thing. One wonders what a “church” might be without worshiping God? The answer may be evident by the non-Bible version of the Bible they use:

Texas Democrat Senate candidate James Talarico’s longtime Austin church gives new members copies of an “Inclusive Bible” that removes gendered language for God, according to undercover video footage.
The Daily Caller reported that Rev. Jim Rigby, head pastor at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian for more than 35 years and a spiritual mentor to Talarico, told an undercover journalist the church “typically” hands out the translation when people join.
“It’s good on the gender stuff,” Rigby said in the video. “The more, like, metaphysical stuff, it’s not a very good translation, if that makes sense. I think it’s really important to have a good translation so you can let go of the stupid stuff.”
“Stupid stuff” like “the Lord,” “Son of God,” and “Son of Man.” That’s not surprising, as Babs Miller said: the “vast majority” of the congregation would identify as “agnostic or atheist.”
The church describes itself as “Presbyterian & Progressive” and argues that calling God male is “perhaps the most sexist comment a person can make,” Texas Scorecard reported.
One might argue that Talarico can’t be blamed for the beliefs of the church he attends and where he often preaches, but as Matthew 7:20 notes:
Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
There is yet time for Paxton’s “dirty trick” to reach enough Texans to convince them that James Talarico isn’t remotely like them. His perversion of Christianity and the Word of God will likely be more than enough to do the trick, supported by his disdain for and hatred of Normal Americans.
