Apple Inc. has reportedly abandoned plans to develop a large foldable MacBook and mid-sized MacBooks featuring an OLED display, research firm Omdia said Thursday.
The canceled MacBook with a foldable screen was reportedly planned with a display measuring between 16.1 inches and 18 inches when fully unfolded. Meanwhile, Apple is expected to launch 14.3-inch and 16.3-inch MacBook Pro models featuring OLED displays by the end of the year, keeping that size range within the MacBook Pro lineup.
Meanwhile, Omdia's latest forecast showed that Apple is planning to introduce a new 13.8-inch MacBook product line in 2029. The model is expected to feature next-generation OLED technology, along with a touch sensor embedded in the encapsulation layer (TOE).
