The US State Department’s Rewards for Justice program on
Thursday offered up to $10 million or relocation assistance for information leading to the identification or location of Amir Yaryab, a senior IRGC cyber official.
According to a Rewards for Justice statement, Yaryab heads the IRGC Cyber-Electronic Command’s Cyber Operations Command and oversees several affiliated groups accused of targeting defense, energy, financial, telecommunications, shipping, airline and media infrastructure in the US, Europe and the Middle East.
Washington said he also oversees operations by IRGC-linked groups including CyberAv3ngers, Dadeh Afzar Arman and Mehrsam Andisheh Saz Nik, which have used malware to target civilian infrastructure worldwide.
