Oman flight suspension disrupts Iran’s mobile phone imports

 

The suspension of flights from Oman has effectively halted mobile phone shipments to Iran, creating problems for importers who rely heavily on air freight, an industry representative said.

“More than 90% of the mobile phones needed in the country are imported by air,” Abdolmahdi Asadi, a member of Iran’s Chamber of Commerce and Mobile Phone Association, told ILNA on Sunday.

Phones had been shipped from Dubai to Oman before being transported to Iran, but importers have faced international transportation problems for about a week since Oman flights stopped, Asadi added.
